SSB 1200
Numbered 550-567 - there were 15 active as of Jan 1, 1997. Geared for 65 MPH, these 1200 HP switchers weigh 246,000 lbs.

Built as SW1200 by EMD in 1953 for the ATSF - rebuilt by ATSF at San Bernardino CA into SSB 1200 - later sold
to (1984) Amtrak as part of a SSB1200/CF-7 deal for 18 SDP40s.
