Ordered by the PRR in 1966 from Budd. Actual service started on the Penn Central in 1969.

These self propelled cars came in three configurations – 76 seat coach, 60 seat coach/snack and 34 seat club

In 1979 some were rebuilt in 72 seat coach, 56 seat coach /snack and 48 seat club

800-830 were coaches

850-869 were coach /snack

880-889 were club cars
